The story of the feeding of the 5,000 as told in the Gospels teaches us to trust and depend on Jesus for everything. Jesus tests his disciples by asking them where they will buy the bread for the multitude to eat. The story also teaches us that the Lord provides for those who serve him, with 12 baskets of leftovers for 12 disciples serving Jesus.
