We open the 18th Chapter of John’s Gospel following Jesus over the Kideon stream into the Garden of Gethsemane. This stream was drainage from the temple and would have been red the blood of thousands of sacrifices, foreshadowing the blood of the final sacrifice and the fulfillment of scripture…the Lamb of God who will take away the sin of the world! Just as history began in a Garden in Genesis, where Adam’s sin and disobedience created death, Jesus’s obedience will conquer death and provide the way to salvation!
